Job Description Summary Job Description The Lead Control Engineer is to drive the design, development, validation, and deployment of control systems for utility-scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role leads controls delivery across the full project lifecycle—from concept through commissioning—ensuring high-quality, compliant, and on-time execution. Roles and Responsibilities As part of controls team responsible for project deliverables, controls software validation, project specific software creation, FAT, SAT, HIL, commissioning support for Solar & Battery energy storage system (BESS) projects
Support on-site startup and integration of various systems to our hardware and software. Track overall status of controls deliverables and complete on time with quality for the assigned projects to meet goals of the control team. Have close interaction with project managers, various internal teams and customers to finalize engineering requirements with respect to contract scope and deliver the same to ensure customer satisfaction
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with customers with confidence and clarity. Develop, improve, and administer customer overview and operational training material for the control system. Work across the Hybrid engineering and services organizations to prepare documentation for installation, commissioning, and operations for use by internal GE employees and our customers
Work on design, develop and deploy the control hardware configuration for each project and design the communication network, including but not limited to DI/DO, Ethernet, FO and other industrial communication etc. Support problem identification and resolution of new and installed products. Drive performance and reliability enhancements back to the product Participate actively in controls design, Software code reviews, testing and software validation
Work on standardization of controls project execution, software
