About the Job The Sr Computational Biologist position sits within the Computational Discovery team and is responsible for building advanced algorithms and technical features that will drive R&D’s innovation roadmap. This role leverages multi-modal data, including large scale genomics, real-world clinical outcomes, and imaging datasets, to identify and establish feasibility of novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets. The Sr Computational Biologist contributes as a subject matter expert in cross-functional initiatives to identify opportunities for growth and innovation that can advance FMI’s assay and data product capabilities
This position requires a deep understanding of cancer biology and bioinformatics, as well as the ability to communicate complex findings to internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Utilize statistical expertise to explore multimodal data and lead scientific investigations into mechanisms of oncogenesis, prognostic and predictive biomarkers, drug resistance, and disease monitoring. Manage and/or support code bases/repositories and dataset versioning and quality control
Represent Computational Discovery to cross-functional departments and leadership teams to refine product strategy. Collaborate with clinical partners in translational research projects that result in abstracts and publications. Communicate results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: PhD in a life science or mathematical field with a clinical focus and 4+ years of industry or post-doctorate experience within Cancer Biology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or another related life science; OR Master’s degree in a life science or mathematical field with clinical focus and 6+ years of industry experience within Cancer Biology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or another related field Proficiency with one or more of the following scientific computing languages: Python, R, Matlab, or Java Preferred
